“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” —Pablo Picasso
Working alone, at home, or in our creative studios can feel isolating even for the introvert. Have you ever felt in need of connection or a little encouragement during the day?
Connection for Creative Well-Being
Having an artist community that you can easily tap into can spark creativity when inspiration lags. This is why I joined a new social community, and so far quite pleasant without all the typical baggage.
“Threads” is a new social platform connected to Instagram. It’s a perfect interface to meet and connect with like-minded creators and they make interacting easy.
Each post gives the “Threader,” five hundred words to express their communication. They can include a single image or a series of images that can seamlessly stitch together. They can add links to their references, too.
The Short and the Long
Perhaps you want to include a poem over 500 words; consecutive posts just take a tap. There are very few limits to what and how you can share! I plan to share art tips, links to free art lessons, artist references, my art, and highlight other artists.
Threaders can leave comments on any post and additional information and/or encouragement, and insights. I feel it’s a simple and effective opportunity to build a solid creative community. I also want to have a lot more fun with other creators and makers.
Since San’s Art Creations Thread is a public group, that doesn’t mean your Threads can’t be private. If you select a private account we all can still interact together by following each other. But, private account responses can only be seen by their approved followers.
It’s Easy to Get Started
If you already have an Instagram account, it’s easy to start.
Here’s a link showing you how, click > How to set up your Thread Account
Also, it’s worth mentioning that if you’ve had bad experiences with other social networks, Threads makes it very easy to control who follows you and weed out bots, propaganda, and the typical social network “bad actor” behaviors. Once you click them away, any other accounts they create are also blocked. If someone follows you and you don’t jive with their nitch or threads, you can also have them unfollow you without letting them know. Threads feels very friendly and different.
I dearly hope to see you there! A few minutes a day connecting with like-minded creators on this easy to use platform could be that positive spark for your creative spirit.
